CERTIFICATION COORDINATOR

Job Description

Responsible to:            Chapter President, Members of the Chapter’s Executive Board, and Members of the Mt. Baker Chapter of SHRM/NHRMA.

 

Function:                      The Certification Coordinator serves the Chapter by providing ongoing information regarding the HRCI certification tests and study groups to the board and the general membership.  

Duties:

 

1.       Provides certification information and materials to interested individuals.

 

2.       Provides study group or educational information to members regarding PHR/SPHR accreditation.

 

3.       Twice yearly, acknowledge recently certified members:

 

-          Notify Chapter Board

-          Newsletter / website announcement

-          Luncheon meeting announcement

-          Congratulatory letter to individual

 

4.       Act as liaison with HRCI if any questions regarding certification arise.

 

5.       Considers and recommends outstanding chapter member who excels in her/his profession for Member of the Year Award.

 

6.       Contact HRCI (web address) and provide information on each of the monthly speakers and presentation topics to receive potential HRCI Recertification credit.

 

7.       Provides timely and noteworthy articles for Chapter Newsletter.

 

8.       Participates in the development and implementation of Chapter Goals.  Supports the mission of the Mt. Baker Chapter. 

 

9.       Represents the Chapter in the Human Resources community and actively promotes the awareness and support of its activities.

 

10.   Immediately upon leaving the office of Certification Coordinator, and no later than the January board meeting, forwards all materials and/or information related to the position to the incoming Certification Coordinator.

 

11.   Attends meetings of the board and general membership on regular basis in order to keep informed of chapter activities.

 

12.   Uphold SHRM Code of Ethics and the Chapter By-laws.

 

13.   Completes other assignments as requested by the President or Chapter Board of Directors.

 

 

 

Qualifications:              Must be certified by HRCI and possess up-to-date knowledge in the general areas of Human Resource Management.
