Fall 2009 WWU  PHR/SPHR Preparation Course

Western Washington University's College of Business and Economics and Extended Education are offering a ten week PHR and SPHR test preparation course Thursdays, October 1 - December 10, 6 - 8:30 p.m. at 405 32nd Street, Room 360.  Kelly Lewis, SPHR, is the facilitator.  SHRM Learning System materials are provided.  An information meeting will be held on September 17 at 6 p.m. at 405 32nd Street, Room 360 to meet the instructor and learn more details regarding the workshop.  Information and online registration is available at http://www.acadweb.wwu.edu/eesp/phr/index.shtml OR you may call Ariel Cleasby-Heaven at 650-3717 for additional information.

The Bellingham Technical College periodically offers a PHR/SPHR/GPHR Preparation Course, provided that there is adequate enrollment. If you are interested in the BTC course, contact Bellingham Technical College for more information.

Do you know which exam is appropriate for your background and experience? HRCI has found that successful PHR candidates have two to four years of exempt HR work experience and SPHR candidates have six to eight years exempt work experience. As a candidate, you will want to assess your qualifications using guidelines found at www.hrci.org. 

Exam questions represent the various functional areas in human resources. The percentages that are emphasized in the two exams are available at www.hrci.org.  Exams fees are also available at the HRCI website.
